MURDERER’S DIARY: What did Michael David McKee write about the “TASTE OF DEATH” in the notebook found under his bed? DO NOT READ while eating!

The Hidden Manuscript of Evil

During a secondary search of McKee’s apartment, a plain, black notebook was discovered tucked deep under his mattress. What appeared to be a standard journal turned out to be the most damning evidence of premeditation in the entire case. Spanning over 200 pages, the “Murderer’s Diary” provides a window into the mind of a man who had meticulously scripted his ex-wife’s demise years in advance.

The “Taste of Death”

The entries are described as graphic, poetic, and utterly revolting. In one specific chapter titled “The Taste of Death,” McKee wrote in chilling detail about how he imagined the final moments would feel, smell, and taste. He didn’t just write about killing; he wrote about the “sensory experience” of ending a life. He described the metallic scent of blood and the coldness of skin with a clinical detachment that has left even the prosecution’s psychiatrists shaken. The diary reveals that McKee had “rehearsed” the murder in his mind thousands of times, writing down the dialogue he intended to use and the exact way he wanted Monique to look at him.

A Warning Ignored

The diary also catalogs his successful “test runs”—dates and times when he successfully broke into Monique’s house just to watch her sleep, which he described as “tasting the fear before the feast.” This journal proves that the tragedy was not a crime of passion, but a long-term project. For anyone reading the transcripts, the sheer lack of humanity in his words is a reminder that some monsters don’t hide in closets; they sit in quiet rooms and write down their darkest fantasies until they become reality.

What do police say?

Investigators believe the couple was killed between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., a three-hour window in which a person of interest was recorded on a security camera walking in an alley next to their home, the police department said last week.

The brief video shows a person walking in the alley wearing light-colored pants and a dark hooded jacket. Police did not confirm Saturday whether McKee is believed to be the person seen in the video.

In an interview with Spectrum News, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant appeared to explain the gap in time between when Spencer Tepe’s boss called and when his friend stopped by, saying that an officer who was initially dispatched to their home went to the wrong address.

“He did everything that he was supposed to do, knocked on the door, check the backyard, all those things, but it was not the right location,” she told the outlet.
